Science Curriculum Review Board Games (Student Created)

At the end of the year, I had students create their own board games in small groups for the purpose of reviewing for the CRTs (Utah's end of year test). Their only requirement was to have at least 5 questions from each of the 6 topics (water cycle, weather, fossils, rocks and minerals, Utah's environments, soil) we studied this year within their game.

My 2013-2014 Chevron Teacher Planner

I am seriously just SO thrilled about this. I created and sold teacher planners last year. I still need to update those 3 designs for the 2013-2014 school year, but I decided to create a chevron print for next year that I am using myself. I put it all together this week and am in love with it. I already have several orders from teachers at my school to have the same thing.

My Year So Far... Back to School Night 2012

This year has been a whirlwind of craziness already. I think I may finally be somewhat settled into my new schedule, commute, school, students, etc. I spend 35 minutes commuting each way. I'm at school an hour and a half early and usually force myself to leave at 4 p.m. each day {when my contracted hours end}.

I'm enjoying my new school and students, but boy-oh-boy do I have a tough class this year - behaviorally and academically. We're working through it - slowly, but surely. I have a teaching assistant who bounces back and forth between the other 4th grade and my class. We have 53 kids in 4th grade. My teaching partner and I rotate in the afternoon. I teach science and art. He teaches P.E./health and social studies. It's so much fun to have 53 students who all feel like mine.

My Favorite: Blogs & Online Resources

Sad to say, I have no idea what life would be like without my laptop...or the internet. I love Pinterest. I love blogs. I love creating PowerPoints, Word Docs, printables, units, etc. electronically. I just simply love every single thing about technology. Today I'm sharing my favorite blogs and online resources with you. I wanted to use image links for all of them, but not every blog has a button and not every website has a decent logo image I can use. I've included a super short blurb to tell you what the websites are for, where needed.
