Now on TPT: Scientific Method Posters + a Giveaway

http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Scientific-Method-Posters-Chevron-1313926

Yesterday I spent the day working on some updates to files that I already have in my store. One of the files {Apple Mummification Science Experiment} was in need of a serious visual update. As part of that lesson, I included Scientific Method Posters. In the science experiment file, the posters are striped. I decided to take the posters and make a chevron version to sell in my store as it's own file. It also comes with a worksheet.

These Chevron Scientific Method Posters are for sale in my TPT store for $1.50.

Monday Made It: Student Reward Punch Cards + a Giveaway

http://4thgradefrolics.blogspot.com/

During my first year of teaching I blogged about student reward punch cards on my other blog, The Nest Effect. I created punch cards through VistaPrint, using their loyalty card template. Who knew the post would be so popular on a blog that isn't related to education? Thanks to Pinterest it became one of my top 5 most popular posts on my blog. {See the post, here.}

After deciding to start The Learning Effect, I reblogged about the reward cards and gave more info on how I use them, what templates I used, etc. That post became one of the top 5 most popular posts on this blog. {See the post, here.}

Over the last year I've had numerous emails and comments asking if I'd make reward cards to sell in my TPT store. I finally sat down last night and created the punch cards and I'm so excited to share them with ya'll!

Of course, they're chevron...like everything else I seem to make. {I swear, I should have just named my blog The Chevron Effect. Ha!} Black and white {plain} cards are also included...as well as a blank template to create your own cards. They're listed for $1.50 in my store.

Monday Made It: My 2014-2015 Chevron Lesson Planner

http://4thgradefrolics.blogspot.com/

One of the most popular posts on my blog is my lesson planner from last year. I had no idea that it would be so popular and I'm sure glad that I decided to make my own and sell it in my TPT store.

When I created my planner last year, I had no idea if it would even be something I'd like using or not. I had tried the generic planners from Lakeshore Learning, and even Erin Condren's teacher planner for two years. I wasn't a fan of the price of EC's planner and the fact that for that price I couldn't really personalize it to fit my needs, so I decided to try to make my own.

I ended up LOVING my planner and used it consistently all year {which was a first for me}. This year I updated the look to make it stylish, while adding more space for writing. Check it out!

The binder is from Staples. It's a Martha Stewart Discbound Notebook. I chose to go with this rather than having my files bound because I can add/remove pages at any time, and reuse this notebook base every year. {I did have to purchase the Arc punch, but it's so worth it.} I also upgraded the disc size so that I could add more to my notebook. The outside of the notebook ended up getting dirty easily, but I was able to quickly clean it up with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I did print all of the pages myself. I purchased 32 lb. paper to print on. It holds better and prints better. I don't have to worry about bleed through with this paper - for printer ink or pens. I also found that when writing on 32 lb. paper with a pencil, it erases a lot better than on regular paper.

The divider tabs are also from Staples and from the Martha Stewart Discbound system. I used my label maker with clear tape to label the tabs.

I created 5 different "themes" for this planner. They're all $17, with the exception of the plain planner, which is $15. Each planner has around 297 pages...all depending on the theme. The best part is that every year I'll upload the new calendars for you...at no extra cost! You just have to redownload. So it's a one-time buy. To see my planners in my TPT store, click here.

Monday Made It: Clip Art & Font Binder

http://4thgradefrolics.blogspot.com/

Two Fridays ago Sara at The Colorful Apple posted about her clip art and font organization. I've been looking for a good way to be able to visualize all of my clip art and fonts when creating files without having to go into each folder on my PC and look. Sara's binder organization method is perfect!

It took me a few days to create the PowerPoint file with all of the images - and to find the images online of the previews, if they weren't included in the download. 82 pages later... So worth it!
