The Learning Effect

I am so excited to start this blog, The Learning Effect. Since I began teaching full-time at the end of November 2011, I have just had an itch to start a blog specifically for things related to education and teaching.

For a little over a year now, I've been blogging at The Nest Effect. I am not going to stop blogging at The Nest Effect, but instead, hope to juggle both at once.

My awesome readers on The Nest Effect's Facebook page helped me pick the name The Learning Effect. So fitting - I love it.

In case you're completely new to me, let me tell you about myself.

I grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania near Scranton. I moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in August 2005 to attend the University of Utah. I earned my degree in Elementary Education in May 2011. I completed my student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom and my first full-time teaching position was in 2nd grade.

For the 2012 - 2013 school year I will be teaching at a brand new charter school just North of Salt Lake City. The charter school has a business emphasis and lots of awesome technology, so I'm really excited to start this new teaching journey. I will be teaching 4th grade.

I plan to start creating files for my Teacher's Pay Teachers store during my time off this summer. I have some things already in the works and they should be done this week! Be sure to subscribe so that you're getting daily updates because when I add something new to my TpT store, I may just put it on here for free for 24 hours or less.

There's also a page (linked at the top of the blog) called "Free Printables" where you'll soon be able to find freebies to download!

I would love for you to connect with me and subscribe/follow/like/etc. to keep up with everything I'm posting. After all, you won't want to miss out on the freebies and giveaways! Connect through the links on the right sidebar.

  2. Tiffany, I'm so excited. I've been following The Nest Effect for a while and actually went looking for a thirty-one consultant because of the things you do in your classroom. I don't know how I missed the part that you are one and I can order from you, but I would be much happier to do it that way and support you rather than someone I don't know anything about.

I am also a teacher, I'm certified 7-12 language arts and am working on my instructional technology masters to also be certified K-12 computers. Though you and I are at the opposite end of the age group spectrum, I love seeing what you do in your classroom because one things elementary teachers do SOOOO much better than secondary teachers is intentionally organize their classroom environment. I'm glad you have a teacher blog; I've basically followed you every where possible, so I'm excited to see even more about what you do in your classroom.
